I love old black and white family photos. Like artifacts from a world I will never really be familiar with. Through the lens I can steal a backwards glance into that space in time to catch a moment with a loved one. A tangible reminder that the family tree is deeply rooted.
This is a picture of Maria, my grandmother who came to me in a dream after she left. Confusing? Find clarification here: Besitos y Adios. Gone for more than 15 years now and I still miss her so much. One of the many reasons why I’ve learned to cherish photographs. Do you like tangible photos or do you prefer maintaing a digital archive?
Hey Mark, I love both too. What troubles me about digital is they’re all over. Some are with flickr others are with snapfish, Instagram, iPhoto, google+, blah blah blah. Too many passwords. Do you keep all your digitals in one spot? Did you like Cheesecake Factory?
I keep them all of the important ones on my iPad Air. We went for the one with more storage so I can have the space to keep them here. Tomorrow morning I post my adventures at The Cheesecake Factory. It was quite the … well, I tell all tomorrow. Have a great Sunday night, Sandra.
I love a good photo album, and I love taking pictures. Having the ability to store everything on a computer is great and convenient, and its nice having the ability to create online albums as well. I’m still going to print out photos to keep in albums around the house, or course..
By the way, I saw your Square One Music Box on the side, and “Put A Lid On It” caught my eye. It was assumed that it was Squirrel Nut Zippers, and clicking on it was necessary. Sure enough, it’s SNZ! That band is one of my favorites, and when the time comes, I am going to ask how much they would charge for performing at a wedding.
Really??!! I usually have to explain who they are. If they won’t commit to your date, I can play Hell for you on my ukelele. Probably not appropriate for a wedding tho…
Sure thing! You keep at it too. And if you do decide to pick up a uke I’ll share some great sources for tabs and chords when you’re ready. BTW, you’re getting into your 30’s while I’m on my way out. Time passes like a bullet train. Thanks for stopping by!
Love this so much! It’s a dying art, but film photography is best. You shoot and keep your fingers crossed really. But if you think about it, I wish our kids would have photo albums. Flicking through photos in front of a computer is no fun at all.

What a great treasure! I prefer to hold something with my hands, and feel whatever comes from the photos themselves. Does that make sense? Anyway, I have a few old photos and feel so blessed to have them. I have just realized that I have not told you my name, it is Dora.
I like both, too. But I find that if I simply print photos, I don’t know what to do with them. But I love making photo books (like on Shutterfly, Picaboo, etc). I find we look at them a lot more often than traditional photo albums. (By the way, I loved the Squirrel Nut Zippers, too! I played baritone sax through high school and appreciated what a central role they gave to the instrument.)

You can play “Hell” on the ukulele?!? (It’s an upbeat, easy-to-dance-to song, so it can be appropriate.) That is pretty cool.
