Feet, why do I need them if I have wings to fly?
-Frida Kahlo
These feet nearly betrayed me. I almost took flight, think: Spiderman on Broadway when I was going for Wonder Woman pre-detox. Let me explain. Oliva wanted to be held as our groceries were being bagged. With her hoisted on one hip I lied and told the bagger “I got it,” when she offered to help me out to the car. The words barely escaped my big mouth when I lost my footing and did an awkward two step. Luckily I steadied myself before disaster ensued. Oliva just giggled and said “silly mommy!” as I carried her and our groceries out to the car.
Grocery clerks are busy people so it’s important that they are free to help others like those who can’t walk and carry a toddler at the same time. I guess this is the season of my life when I need to pack away the super hero getup and admit when I can use a hand. Maybe this old cape will fit Oliva. She’s at the perfect age.
It’s hard to admit that the cape might not fit, Sandra. I’m glad the two-step got your going on a straight line forward, not down, not to mention earning a good giggle from Olivia.

It really was a best case scenario. It was heading in an ugly direction for sure. Another narrow escape! Have a great day Mark!

This is one area of my life where I’ve come to automatically accept help. I always get help out with my groceries now. It feels a little awkward but it’s so worth it!
