For this Cinco de Mayo edition of Steve’s Music Mix I am posting a picture of one of my favorite Dia de Los Muertos figurines. Happy cinco amigos! Cheers, do call a cab. I’ve got the jukebox covered for you. iSalud!
Giving Steve’s Music Mix another spin. If you want to play too, click this link for more info. Here’s the instructions if you’re curious:
3 new questions are posted weekly:
- Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
- Say the questions aloud and press play
- Use the song title as your answers
- NO CHEATING
Here’s how my mix sounds:
1) I’m on…
One Fast Move or I’m Gone-Benjamin Gibbard
Comments: “This river road, it don’t flow like it used to.” hmmm we live near a river. So if I connect the dots, “I’m on a river.” Bingo!
2) I’m in…
Beat (Health, Life, and Fire)-Thao
Comments: I’m in health, life, and fire. That seems to work as is.
3) I’m over…
I Will-Brandi Carlile
Comments: “You might not miss this, I will, I will, I will.” I’m over Brandi Carlile? Never. So that’s two this week for the cosmos and one for me.
Feliz Cinco de Mayo! I drank a Negro Modelo for you yesterday prematurely. I will, I will, I will drink another perhaps tonight.

I took Spanish from 5th grade-10th and then again in college, and I’ll be dog-goned if I never got fluent! I can tell my kid to lavate tus manos and venga aqui, but I do feel a sense of failure for not mastering it. Pobrecita. But when he plays soccer, I can hear the other parents yelling “ch” words they shouldn’t be saying.

Me too Kerbey! I took college level spanish in New Mexico, never mind that my teacher was Korean. Seriously. But I didn’t practice often enough to become fluent. Oh yes, I know of which ch words you are referring to!

I really do too, Steve. Kind of a folk rock version of Death Cab for Cutie. Does that make sense?

I used to think it was Robbie Williams when I heard it. Love the new avatar!
