Marysville, CA
The once posh Hotel Marysville was built in the 1920’s. Described as a jewel in her day, she charmed guests such as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Bing Crosby. Today she sits abandoned and empty in the middle of a town she doesn’t recognize.
Sleepy Time Gal
Sleepy time gal you’re turning night into day
Sleepy time gal you’ve danced the evening away
Before each silvery star fades out of sight
Please give me one little kiss
Then let us whisper, “goodnight”
Its getting late dear,
Your pillow is waiting.
Performed by Ben Bernie 1925, Sleepy Time Gal
Well, now I has a sad.

Right? The relentless march of time is cruel. But she did have a ball in her day. Still freezing cold out your way, Kerbey?

Maybe High 30s tonight but not bad in the daytime. Although for some reason I’ve been having chills for the last hour. What about you?

Oh no, hope that’s not a bug settling in! Mid 40s around here. Snow a few miles up the road. It never snows here. So strange!

I love the history of old things. Sadly this one had a sad ending. A very nice sleepy time serenade though!

That’s unfortunate. Seems like a developer would either use the place as apartments or condominiums? I followed your link back here. 😎

Thank you John! Yeah, it really is unfortunate. It looks really run down now. It was once a real gem.
