Backyard Snaps

April 2020

Upgraded to a new Nikon body! I’m on a steep learning curve with the new focusing system but I’m happy for a new challenge.

Spring 2020

These are backyard pictures. Hope you are all doing well and practicing some self-care when you can in these unusually intense times.

Xo,

Sandra

    1. Hi Pete, after I talked to you I did go for the 7500. It took awhile to ship, understandably. Unfortunately I used it only a couple times when the autofocus stopped working. I tried every suggestions I could find and nothing worked. I ended up having to ship it back. They are replacing it for me. I’m back to using my 3300 body in the meantime which is making me really appreciate all the updated features and technology of the new model. Looking forward to working with it some more when it eventually arrives. I hope you are doing well!

      1. Hi Sandra. Sorry to know you have had problems with your new camera, but at least, like you say, you have had a taster of more to come. Hopefull you will have a replacement soon, and you can then enjoy more!

    1. Thanks John! The Z6 is still number 1 on my wish list! Especially after seeing all your great photos! I sprung for the D7500, the little brother to the D500 which I really like for the wildlife capabilities but it’s hefty price tag is out of range too. The 7500 took awhile to ship, understandably. Unfortunately I used it only a couple times when the autofocus seized up. I tried every suggestions I could find and nothing worked. I ended up having to ship it back. They are replacing it for me. I’m back to using my 3300 body in the meantime which is making me really appreciate all the updated features and technology of the new model. Looking forward to working with it some more when it eventually arrives. Take good care!

      1. Nice choice Sandra! So sorry the darn thing locked up. It’s sooo amazing isn’t it? The D3300 is less capable. Be well! 🙏🏻😎

  1. Congratulations on the new camera body. From the looks of these you’re figuring it all out. This is a good use of your time at home. You’ll be all ready to get out for some explorations and great photos when this crisis is over. Nicely done.

    1. Thank you Chris! Unfortunately after only a short time with it the autofocus malfunctioned. I assumed the obvious operator error and tried every solution I could find I did have to concede and ship it back. A replacement will follow eventually, I completely understand given current circumstances. Until then I have my old reliable Nikon body to work with. Also learned that Nikon is offering free photography classes this month! So I have options! 😉

      1. That’s too bad about the autofocus. At least you’re looking on the bright side, that you have a functioning camera body. That’s cool about the free classes. So many companies are offering their products for free now. It’s really impressive how they want to help out.

  2. Is it a wasp? Gorgeous with the blossom too. My bloke bought me a camera with an optional manual focus and I have to admit I’ve never used it because I only take pictures of food and skincare so erm…!? I feel so unappreciative! I think I better practice on him, ha! Any tips?
