I was so disheartened by my botched encounter with the Great Blue Heron yesterday that I set out to the same spot, this time with my favorite lens. Hoping for a do over. When I got to the spot I found it empty. But I made a picture of the scene anyway because the light was pretty.

When I looked in the view finder I saw something move. It was him!

He even strutted out from under the cover of the brush.

You and I have different definitions for botched, Sandra. Yesterday’s photos were splendid. Today’s are magnificent. You and Mr. Blue Heron get along very well.
