This blue canning jar makes me happy. I stuffed it full of fairy lights because I wanted to see what they would look like glowing through the glass. Reminds me of fireflies. When I was a child I had two wishes: to experience a snow white Christmas, and to see fireflies. The two remain on the bucket list. Have you ever seen fireflies and/or enjoyed snow at Christmas?
On Fireflies and Christmas

Fireflies as quite common here but snow is not.

Yes, both. We had lots of fireflies in the summers when I was growing up in Illinois, and every third or fourth Christmas had snow.

This looks beautiful, Sandra. I love the light glowing through the blue glass. I’ve been fortunate to have seen both fireflies and snow at Christmas. I hope someday you get to see them also. Have a great day. 😊

Thank you so much Chris! I have seen snow oddly enough when I lived in ABQ, New Mexico! But it would melt before it hit the ground. We made it to Friday! I hope you have a great day!

Back home in Michigan, I’ve seen many a white Christmas, and seasons of fireflies. Common in the north.

Snow, at least on the ground, at Christmas time is quite common around here. Indeed it’s rare for it not to be on the ground by then. Actually snowing on Christmas day, I think we have seen just once or twice in the 9 years we have been here. I’ve never seen fireflies though!

Thank you for visiting Mike! When I lived in ABQ, New Mexico the snow would melt before it hit the ground and that was usually in November. I hope you’re doing well!

Yes and heck yes, Sandra!
Here we call them lightning bugs. They should be coming out any day now.
And Christmas snow in my part of our world is. Better than 50-50 ../.

Sounds wonderful Bro! I’ve always imagined that lightning bugs make a sound like the buzz you can hear in old fashioned light bulbs. I would often go to bed on Christmas Eve and wish to wake up to a blanket of snow. Like in all the movies! 🙂 I hope you’re doing well!

I’m on the morning break for my Friday shift, working from home this week, Sis. Karen took off with her friend Georgia for an overnighter at their friend Chris’s up near Alexandria Bay. Just me and Ellie tonight! The Bach life, cooking ravioli and watching Mets baseball.
