I remember now why I stopped visiting this little pond.

The construction up on the ridge above this area is so loud.

And another unfortunate discovery is that the pond has evaporated into a tiny puddle.

But this Lesser Yellowlegs doesn’t seem to mind either development.

Strutting this way and that. Soaking in the morning sun.

Devastation of wetlands should be a capital crime.

Why can’t people just leave the wetlands and other special areas alone? That’s terrible!

What a lovely bird! I’m glad you got the last shot to show off its fabulous legs! I support the previous 2 comments about wetlands, anywhere in the world. They are stunning habitats!

Nice capture, Sandra. He’s cute and with such long legs. Great capture. Is the construction the reason the water dried up?

Thank you Chris! I’m not entirely sure if the construction is the cause or if it’s the dry year we are having. I’m hoping that rain will fall and restore our water levels.
