Hooray for rain! No outdoor pictures today so I’m sharing a snap of my ukulele. It was a great day to practice. When the weather keeps you in what do you like to do?
Yay for rain. You need it there. That’s a cool uke you have Sandra. If I’m inside all day, I like to read, watch movies and maybe bake something. Have a great day.
Thank you, Sandra, for sharing this! Rain is good but so is playing the ukulele! Wow, hidden talents. How long have you been playing? I wish I still played my guitar. I tried to start up again a few years ago but with writing and trying to make prints…….something had to give. Keep it up, do! The instrument looks really nice. Is it much smaller than a guitar? What style of music do you play?
Thank you Ashley! About ten years ago I wanted to learn to play the guitar but it felt so big and I struggled with the fingering. I visited my local music store and asked if they could recommend a smaller guitar and they showed me their impressive ukulele collection. This is one of my favorites because it’s so small. I love it’s bright and cheerful tone. I like playing a variety of songs anything from The Eagles, Tom Petty, Janis Ian, Johnny Cash, and Patsy Cline. My daughter loves Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Hamilton so I play lots of those songs too. It’s a fun instrument to play and with only 4 strings the chords are easy to learn. It sounds like you have lots of interests too with writing and prints. That’s great! Keeps us occupied and our brains busy! Take good care 😘
I’ll have to play around with the movie setting on my Nikon, John. Maybe I can figure out how to record and download a clip to share. I’m not very good. But I enjoy playing! I hope you’re doing well. Take good care
I am well, feeling bored but happy to be alive, and that my family back home are well too. I’ve never used the movie feature on the Z6, usually use the iPhone…
Hi there, thank you so much for commenting! My local music store offered group lessons that I enjoyed participating in for a few months. Then I just practiced on my own. I’ve been playing for about 10 years now. Do you play an instrument?
I’ve learned Harmonium long time back. But I’ve always wanted to try Ukulele, felt drawn to it. I guess this is a sign for me to finally get it! Thanks!
It’s a fun instrument that is easy to carry and there’s lots of resources online now for sheet music and learning to play. I hope you do enjoy it! Best wishes
Rain. I could share some. Lots of rain, wind and cold. Bought a new guitar. Sold mine 5 years ago when an injury in my neck disabled my right arm and hand. I thought I would never be able to play. But never say never. After a few weeks of strumming I started fingerpicking again. Today I managed to play Kathy’s Song by Simon & Garfunkel. Boomer keeps me warm in the back sleeping on the 🛋 while I am practicing. Who could ask for more. Smiles. Reinhold
That is a beautiful song! And what an awesome story. So glad you were able to recover and reclaim the hobbies that bring you joy. Boomer has the right idea! Take good care friend!

I love the rain and doing things that don’t get done when the weather is hot. Crafting, sitting by the fire and baking are some of my favorite things.

Thanks Mark! It’s a fun distraction these days. I’ll have to learn the chords for Aime, Pure Prairie League to play for you! 😉
