Puddle

We got enough rain that it pooled in little puddles along the nature trail. More rain today but I got this picture and a few others in before it started. So happy to finally see rain fall!

  1. Nice reflection shot. I guess you don’t get to do as many of those because it doesn’t rain much there. Lately, I’ve seen IG reels where people bring a bottle of water and use it to make their own little puddles for reflections. I haven’t figured out if that is genius or cheating.

    1. Wow! I never thought of that. I’m with you. Not sure how I feel about that. It kind of seems artificial and staged but maybe you can make the case that we all work the scene or a subject in some way. Is anything we capture completely organic? I’m thinking of cropping or warming/cooling tones omitting objects from the frame when composing. It’s a good question you ask.

      1. I have the same feeling. The use of editing or even flash adds artificialt means of making the photo better. i think I always feel lucky when I find a puddle with the perfect reflection. Maybe I need to make my own luck.

      2. Happy Friday. I wanted to ask you: I ordered my 2021 calendars featuring covered bridges to give as Christmas gifts.  VistaPrint sent me a double order by mistake, with no extra charge. If you would accept, I would like to send you one as a gift.

      1. Yes, it snowed, though not much, (higher up) on Monday and last night there were a few flakes left at our level (1,400m or 4,600ft). But the forecast is a for a few days of sun and up to 10 or 12 degrees (50 to 54 F) during the day, so the snow line will recede (certainly on the south facing slopes). Overnight it has been frosty all week. Brrrr…
