Good point Reinhold! No worries, I was on foot. 😎

It still doesn’t look strong enough to carry a train, even if it was brand new!

I think it was at one time. No longer the case I believe. I found a picture here of it in its day c. 1900’s! https://www.santacruztrains.com/2014/11/capitola.html?m=1

Upon closer inspection of the photo – is that rust or just discoloured wood? (Makes it even more incredible if it is wood!)

I think it was built in the 1800’s!

Wow….I think it looks more impressive close up. It takes a lot to support the weight of a train. Cool shot, my friend.

Thank you Chris! It is an old structure but I think that’s why it’s so interesting. I hope you’re doing well!

Such a wonderful structure. Don’t know if it can handle any passage of train!

Maybe at one time it was able to but not presently. Thank you for visiting William!

For some reason when I first saw this, an image of a young Bobbie Gentry jumped into my head.
Wonderful photograph.
Reminds me nostalgically of the “More Earthy, Honest Culture” that built our still Glorious America.
Bravo Sandra!
