As I approached a small sapling near the trail I thought for sure the bird perched at the top like the star on an evergreen was an ordinary pigeon. I shot anyway thinking it’s still good practice. It wasn’t until I processed the photo that I realized it may have been an American Kestrel!

Cool😎 A great blue heron rose up from a drainage gully next to the bike trail and it startled me with large wings flapping ten feet from my head❗️ (I wasn’t wearing my helmet 😉 )
