I enjoy connecting with others here on WordPress. My hope is for you to find friendship and inspiration in these notes. I primarily post pictures of every day sights near my home. Photography is a hobby but music is my true love. I bought my first full length album at the drug store in my tiny hometown, Michael Jackson’s Thriller. I had enough money left over to buy Jessie’s Girl a Rick Springfield single. Tom Petty is my all time favorite storyteller, singer/songwriter. I share this with you because Square One is a beloved Tom Petty song that inspired my WP namesake.

Square One Notes 
It’s lovely to find you here. Sounds like you’re keeping busy. I have my own blog although I don’t write much. I have a big preoccupation with writing ‘hokku’ that keeps to the spirit of the original Japanese verse (nature and the seasons). Favourite artist? Music or art? When I was a teenager I wore a jacket on which I had painted my own Picasso whilst listening to Cream, Jimi Hendrix or Jethro Tull. It’s all changed now though. Older, wiser (?) and slower!

He passed way too young, Sandra. Now, Eddie Van Halen passed from cancer. So sad! He has been in my life so to say since I was in high school.
The drummer for Rush, Neal Pert passed several months ago. That’s now two of my all-time fav’s gone. Number three is still alive, he’s Geddy Lee, the bassist for Rush.
