As sooon as i read they were chatting, I immediately thought in Morse code, tap, tap-tap, tap-tap. We get these types of woodpeckers (or something very similar) at our suet feeder all of the time. Nice capture in that you really got the blaze of red. Have a great day.

Thank you Chris! Their tapping reminds me of Morse code too, now that you mention it. That’s funny. The one on the left has his beak open wide I couldn’t tell if he was eating or yawning or what. They’re rowdy birds! I hope you’re having a great weekend.

Woodpeckers are rowdy birds! But I love to watch them. We get a few varieities but most often see the type you photographed. It’s been a good weekend here. i hope it’s the same there.
