He does look like a shore bird, doesn’t he? This is actually at a little pool of water off of a trail near our house. I think this area was wetland before taken over by housing development. I hope you enjoy some down time this weekend! Take care.
Just getting out into the neighborhood a lot more since things shut down in the spring. It’s a nice distraction. Hopefully you and your family are doing well! ❤️
Nice image, Sandra. I’ve thought of getting an app like this. Do you like it? Have a great day. 😊

Here’s to hanging out at the shore line, Sandra. The green heron knows how to beat the heat.

I just over by the lake to collect a few photos for future posts, Sandra. It’s already nearing 90. I didn’t stay long!

Thank you! I wish I had lightened it up a bit. The area where we were was very shady in the early morning. Thank you for visiting!

Green Heron for sure. They have been known to fish by dropping something on the waters surface to draw in small fish. Actually using tools. 😃

That is so cool, Ted! I did not know that. I wonder why green is in the name, I wasn’t able to see any obvious green. I hope you’re doing well.

All is good (well, enough with the craziness). There is a green/blue cast, especially during mating season. But yeah, more rusty/cinnamon I think.

Another (weird) thing about Green Herons… the like to lick their lips a lot. Of course is a beak, but they do it just the same.

Thank you Donna! I wish I had lightened it up a bit. But that’s how I found him crouched in the underbrush.

Did you move to a nature preserve? I bet that’s what you did during your WordPress hiatus.
